Carlson McCain provided civil engineering and environmental consulting services to permit, construct, and operate the Lightning Butte Disposal Facility, an industrial and special waste landfill providing disposal for energy production related wastes in the Power River Basin of eastern Wyoming.
Permitting services included preparing an application for a solid waste permit to build the landfill, permit drawings, technical specifications, engineering reports, construction quality assurance plan, hydrogeological site characterization, work plan, operations plan, waste acceptance plan, leachate management plan, closure, and post-closure care plan, emergency response plan, and financial assurance documents.
Carlson McCain provided on-site inspection and documentation during construction of the disposal cells and leachate pond. We continue to support facility operations by conducting routine groundwater monitoring and reporting and providing on-call engineering services including airspace calculations, fill plans, stormwater management, etc.
