Becker Ash Landfill

The Becker Ash Landfill is a refused-derived fuel ash disposal facility owned by Great River Energy. Carlson McCain, Inc., and predecessor companies have worked on the Becker Ash Landfill since 1989. During this period, Carlson McCain has been there every step of the way providing the following services:

  • Completion of a hydrogeologic evaluation; including soil borings, design and implementation of an environmental monitoring system, and preparation of hydrogeologic investigation reports.
  • Designed and permitted 47.4-acres of composite baseliner and final cover for landfill.
  • Recent 28-acre expansion included the preparation of an Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW).
  • On-going services include groundwater motoring, leachate sampling, preparation of annual reports, design and oversight of periodic construction activities.
